We now offer a range of high quality wireless, hybrid, IP/Cloud Enabled systems as well as conventional fully wired alarm systems. Over the last few years we have found that more customers are choosing the wireless or hybrid option's, this is mainly due to the fact that these systems can usually be installed in less than half the time of a conventional wired system. Also in most cases there is no need to uplift carpets, floorboards or move furniture making these systems the ideal choice, especially where it may have previously been impractical to have a system fitted. i.e. where tiled, laminated or wooden floors are installed.

    Hardwired systems

The traditional type of alarm system and the only option we installed for many years, where every item within the alarm system is hardwired back to the main control panel.  The main control panel would be permanantly connected to a mains electricity supply and would incorporate a battery back which would keep the system operating normally for several hours in the event of a mains failure.  All of the detectors and sounder units would be powered from the main control panel.

    Wireless Systems

Wireless systems allow a faster installation as the detection devices do not require any wiring, these being battery operated.  However the main control panel, external sounder unit, internal sounder and mains power connection are still hardwired. (most of the wiring can usually be concealed within the loft space.)

All of our wireless systems include a main control panel which has a battery back up, this will take over in the event of a mains power failure and keep the system operating for a minimum of twelve hours - the main control unit would normally be fitted in an upstairs cupboard or loft space.

    Hybrid & IP/Cloud Enabled - Alarm Systems

Hybrid systems use a combination of hardwired and wireless options, these are a particualr good choice to upgrade an existing system, where all the existing wiring can be reused and any additions can be made with wireless detection devices.

Common Attributes for all of the above systems

At least one external sounder unit (sometimes called a "bell box") this incorporates a loud sounder unit, strobe light, dual flashing power indicator L.E.D's, tamper protection and a battery back up. - ussually fitted to the front of the premises. A decoy sounder enclosure is usually fitted to the rear of the premises. (This can be upgraded to a fully functioning live unit also if required)

A keypad with L.C.D. display would normally be fitted in the landing area as this would only be used to part set the system at night - the normal day to day use of the system is by means of remote key fobs, these allow very easy setting and unsetting at the touch of a button.

An internal sounder would normally be fitted in the landing area.

The systems can accommodate up to fifty detection devices and multiple wireless fobs to allow full/part setting, unsetting and also the option of a panic button if required.

The hybrid systems allow for easy future expansion, from extra detection to smart cloud connected systems that allow monitoring and remote control of your alarm from a smart-phone app. The system would operate as "bells only" if these aren't cloud connected.   In order to use the smart features the system will need to have either an IP module or GSM modlue to connect to the cloud services. There is a one off cost for the module, connection and commisoning, professional monitoring services can also be added which would incur an annual monitoring charge also.
